COVID-19 SAFETY PROCEDURES & EXPECTATIONS

We are very excited to see youth back in the Clubs! We have taken steps to reopen,

in a limited way, while following guidelines to keep everyone safe.

Before youth and staff can get on the van or enter the Club the following will happen:

  • Temperature check (if over 99.6 degrees, cannot come to the Club for 1 week)

  • Health questionnaire

  • Hand cleansing

During the Club day, the following will happen:

  • Staff will wear masks whenever working with youth

  • Youth will wear masks while at the Club

  • Groups will never contain more than ten individuals (staggered schedule)

  • The building will be thoroughly sanitized before Club and between groups

  • The van will be cleaned between rides

  • Social distancing will happen in various ways, including a modified meal set up

WHAT DO PARENTS NEED TO DO?

  1. If your child is sick, please keep them at home. Sickness includes any of these symptoms:

    • Fever or chills

    • Cough

    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

    • Fatigue

    • Muscle or body aches

    • Headache

    • New loss of taste or smell

    • Sore throat

    • Congestion or runny nose

    • Nausea or vomiting

    • Diarrhea

  2. If your child has been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, or if someone in the home is sick (see above), please keep them at home at least until that person has recovered.

  3. Drop-off, pick-up, and discussion need to happen outside in the fresh air. Please understand that we must minimize the number of people in the building.

  4. Let us know if your child has any special needs or if anything has changed since we last served them. We know this has been a stressful time for all.

Thank you for your understanding. We know that some guidelines can be hard to follow, and we understand that we will not be able to serve every youth every day, as we strive to keep everyone safe. We have appreciated the support of our communities as we served form a distance, and look forward to working with you moving forward.

STATEMENT ON COVID-19 CLOSURE, OCTOBER 1, 2020

Letter to Our Families

Regarding Club Closure October 1, 2020

Safety is the number one priority of the Boys & Girls Club of Rosebud, and we are doing everything possible to keep children, our staff, and volunteers protected from the COVID-19 virus. Today, October 1, we learned that two Club staff members tested positive for COVID-19. There is a possibility that other staff or Club members were exposed to these individuals in the days prior to the date of diagnosis. We have been advised by local health officials that this possibility is low, and limited to very few youth, due to social distancing, strict mask wearing, and other CDC guidelines which have been in place.  We are collaborating with the appropriate public health officials and adhering to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations to privately inform anyone determined to have been in close contact with these employees. We are also in ongoing communication with these individuals, who are following strict medical guidelines and will remain in quarantine as recommended by their doctor.

Effective today, October 1, and out of an abundance of caution, all three Club facilities will close temporarily to allow for thorough sanitization and cleaning of Club premises, contact tracing, and testing of employees. We will provide updates and a planned reopening date as more information becomes available. Once Clubs reopen, we will continue to work with local public health officials and take all precautionary measures regarding deep cleaning and sanitizing of Club facilities to ensure the safety of members, staff and volunteers.

If you are having symptoms that align with COVID-19, please contact your healthcare provider or Rosebud IHS.  If you do not have a healthcare provider, please contact IHS immediately and indicate that you may have been exposed to the virus.  In the meantime, we are advising all our Club staff, families, and youth to continue to take precautions as recommended by the CDC.  Please also feel free to reach out to me directly with any question or concerns.
