Sponsor a Day

$1400 provides meals, hands on learning, workforce development for teens, and individualized support from a team who cares for 120 lakota youth.

Sponsor a day in honor of an individual, an organization - or bring together a group of friends to make big things happen. 

Our team will connect with you to select your day.  Your investment will be recognized on Social Media and you'll receive real time updates of your Club Day!


Become a Mentor

You have unique skills that can help our youth discover a passion!

 

Become a mentor. The commitment is one hour per week for six months. Help identify long term goals and create a roadmap to accomplishment. Be a sounding board for troubleshooting along the way.

Become a Sustaining Investor

Not ready to sponsor a day?  Help Kids Do Hard Things with a sustaining monthly gift. 

Small gifts have big impacts.  This is what you could provide for a Lakota youth:

$5 = a nourishing meal

$10 = a month of safe transportation

$20 = month of healthy snacks
$100 = a month of mentorship and support from staff who cares

or choose how you would like to give!


Volunteer Opportunities

Homework Helper

Support kids one-on-one or in small groups as they work through reading, writing, or math assignments. No teaching experience required—just patience and a positive attitude.

Time Commitment: 1–2 hours/week (after school)

Ideal For: College students, retired educators, community members

Garden Crew Assistant

Join our young growers in the Club garden. Help plant, weed, harvest, and prepare produce used in our meals—and learn about food sovereignty along the way.

Time Commitment:  Flexible (seasonal, spring through fall)

Ideal For:
  Green thumbs, food justice advocates, families

Lakota Culture Guest

Share a story, skill, or tradition with our members—whether it’s language, cooking, songs, dance, crafts, or oral history.

Time Commitment: One-time or recurring visits
Ideal For:
Community elders, fluent speakers, artists, and cultural keepers

Activity & Club Assistant

Help facilitate a rotating selection of arts, STEAM, and enrichment clubs. This might include photography walks, Lego builds, scavenger hunts, or crafts.

Time Commitment: 1–3 hours/week, varies by activity

Ideal For:
Creative folks, high school students, retirees, hobbyists

Special Events Support

Lend a hand at seasonal events, family nights, clean-up days, or celebrations. Roles include set-up, sign-in, food service, and chaperoning.

Time Commitment: Occasional (dates announced in advance)

Ideal For:
Flexible volunteers, friend groups, first-timers

Teen Mentor

Build positive, professional relationships with youth in our Teen Club. Help with resume building, goal setting, or just being a consistent adult who listens.

Time Commitment: 1 hour/week minimum (short-term or semester-based)

Ideal For:
Professionals, college students, BGC alumni, tribal leaders

Facebook Fundraisers

Every year our supporters raise thousands of dollars for our Club through birthday fundraisers on Facebook! There are no fees taken out for donations to nonprofit organizations so our Club receives the full amount of each donation!
